Regarding The Guest Account
Hello, Alacrity.
Some of you have noticed that the Guest account has been frozen. We apologize for not saying something sooner, but we weren’t exactly sure how we were going to address the issue, so we didn’t really have anything to tell you.
There were some fruitless attempts to gain access to the database by someone using the guest account. This user never got even near succeeding and no one was ever in any danger of having anything taken from them, but this feeble attempt to gain access to the protected areas of our site brought to light the potential that someone with a great amount of time and skill might (and we stress MIGHT) be able to anonymously gain access to the site by using the Guest account.
To the admin handling this issue, this remote possibility that our users might be victimized by an anonymous attack was enough to warrant a temporary freezing of the Guest account while we assess the security of the site.
To reiterate - NO ONE got in. No one got within miles of getting in. Someone basically threw a rock at the wall. Nothing at all was affected by their ineffective “attempts." It doesn’t even seem likely that anyone who did know what they were doing could get in using the guest account, but we want to check it out and put our security through its paces - just to be extra cautious - and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We hope to have the Guest account open again soon.

This is a public service announcement... or, well... an Alacrity Spam Announcement anyway.
Look guys, I know some of you might believe in this stuff, but the spam has got to stop.
There has recently been a wave of spam letters being private messaged and posted in users' scribbles. This is not okay - it is unsolicited spam mail and will get you in trouble, so don't do it!
Remember, no matter what they promise you, no girl is going to show up in your bedroom, your twoo wuv is not going to kiss you because you posted on 10 people's walls, your bed will not be infested with the fleas of a thousand homeless pets and you will not die suddenly or win a million dollars or have your wish granted by a magical email leprechaun. I promise none of that will happen because you did/didn't send these messages to a billion friends online.
