No more lag!

Hello again, my wonderful Alacrites!

Our new programmers have been hard at work, as ever, and finally figured out a solution to our lag problem! You should notice the site running much more efficiently now.

They are also working on our Fish Oil item, and all the kinks are nearly ironed out! We hope to get it all fixed up by tomorrow, and will keep you posted as soon as it's ready. :D

Thank you all for your patience!

A few updates and changes for a better Alacrity

The admins have gotten together once more to try and figure out how the heck to make some awesome new things for the site. Unfortunately, everything we could think of would just increase inflation and make everything a heck of a lot more expensive, so we've come to a sort of arrangement that we think will work.

First, we will be cutting the payout from trials up until Gromit and Snoopy levels, while also ensuring you can still make a reasonable amount from your trialing dogs. We didn't really want to do this, but rest assured we have our reasons, which you will find out if you keep reading!

Alongside that, we have decided to lower the trialing age to 16 years old. This was something you all voted for when we came to the crossroads of the economy a long time ago, because it just made sense (how many 20 year old dogs do you know still competing in agility? Most dogs retire by 14 at the latest, so our Ala dogs have been really rockin' it!). Don't worry, we will be reworking the number of wins it takes to reach the next level, however that's going to take some extreme number crunching, but we will let you guys know!

We are significantly increasing payout in the games - namely beauty shows and the frisbee game. We felt that these games were a bit unbalanced in relation to the trial system, so now we're hoping this makes things a little more fair.

There's also a great new shop in the works - a points shop! Points will hopefully be able to be earned through trials, but also potentially in a new game (we're talking this over with our coders to see what they can realistically do). This shop will have all new items that will only be available through the points shop.

If you'd like to voice comments or concerns, or just want to give some input or maybe even throw in ideas, we have a post up in the Admin Updates Forum (click me!) you can reply in, and we'll get back to you as we can (please be patient, we aren't robots and we do sleep, eat, and have our own lives and may not be present 24/7, but we WILL get back to you guys!)

Final Poll for the Next Alacrity Breed!

We're finally almost all caught up on puppies, and so we are opening a final poll to decide which breed will be added next; Great Dane or Shiba Inu! The poll will stay up until the end of the month, and then a winner will be named!

Remember, you can only vote once per account, and are allowed only 2 accounts. If anyone is caught cheating, there will be immediate and strict consequences, so please be honest and fair in your voting!

There is to be NO ADVERTISING for breeds in chat or adverts! DO NOT BRIBE OTHERS TO VOTE FOR YOUR PREFERRED BREED! This is not considered acceptable behavior. Please allow people to vote however they see fit!

Thank you all for your continued patience and support! Reformatting of Alacrity's code has been finished, and our wonderful programmers are working hard to stomp out more bugs. We will hopefully also be getting a larger amount of space sometime soon, which should help with further reducing lag. :}
